I’m Kuba. I cook with 3D, video, code and AI, mostly to make architecture behave in ways it actually shouldn't.

Foreign_v2

Foreign_v2 is an architectural projection-mapping piece created for the La Voix du Nord building in Lille, presented at the IBSIC Video Mapping Festival 2026 and awarded the Audience Prize.
A stepped-gable facade becomes a vessel glitching through architectural time — its surface fracturing, erupting, and reassembling between competing identities encoded in purple and orange. The piece is built on an unnamed binary opposition. It could be east/west, analog/digital, native/foreign : the reading belongs to the audience.

The audio and visuals share a single conceptual architecture. Both are generated systems navigated through patches: the modular synthesizer routes voltages through filters and feedback loops, the AI pipeline routes latent vectors through diffusion models. Cables and prompts are the same kind of object, instructions that activate a high-dimensional space. Sound was composed first; its temporal structure became the seed for the visual timeline. The visuals are not synchronized to the music, they are a downstream interpretation of the same generative impulse.

Year: 2026

The visual pipeline combines procedural facade geometry in Houdini, architectural style variations through a locally-run image model, animation via LTX video synthesis, and a custom pix2pix GAN trained on the project's own visual language. Every frame is constrained to the building's exact silhouette.

Toggle between the PROJECTION piece and the ON_SITE documentary — switching views picks up at the same moment in both. Click any zone (CROWN, ARCHES, COLONNADE…) to view it as a still frame over the playing video, hover any still for a larger preview, scrub either timeline to navigate the 3:44 piece. Each still is time-stamped and snaps both timelines to that moment.
The wireframe and detail layers toggle independently, fullscreen and sound are one click away.
